Techfellow believes security is paramount; something to be used as a keystone rather than an afterthought. That’s why we created, Techfellow Security.
In April 2016, Dr Christopher Frei said “We’re in the stone age of cybersecurity. Real learning will only come after the first major incident.” – Almost exactly a year later, the Wannacry attack hit…
Techfellow has a wealth of experience in recruiting, and now we’re bringing this experience and the personal love of cybersecurity by our staff to bear on helping some of the biggest tech-driven firms globally fill and expand their security teams. Our team has a mixture of deep recruitment knowledge and a true fascination with security technology.
Jeff Harrod – Co-founder and Head of Cyber Security Practice
Based in London, Jeff Harrod leads the firm’s Cyber Security Practice. Jeff has specialised in technology recruitment for almost 20 years where much of his time has been focused on senior search within the Financial Services industry, partnering with many of the worlds leading trading and technology-driven firms in the UK/USA and across Asia.
Typical placements – CISO/CSO/CRO/Security Design & Architecture/Application Security/Penetration Testing
Prior to Techfellow, he built and ran the Trading Technology Infrastructure practice for Aston Carter (now part of the Allegis Group).
Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and two highly energetic kids, hobbies include functional fitness training, road cycling, reading up on new emerging technology, Formula 1 and embarrassing his kids on the dance floor.
Based in London, Max McKay recently joined Techfellow from a supply chain consultancy. With a passion for technology and more specifically information security we knew he would be a good fit. Working across the USA, UK, and Asia. Max has spent a number of years building a global network of professionals across a number of industries.
Although new to recruitment Max has the drive and technical “know how” to meet and exceed both client and candidate’s expectations.
Outside of the office (when he isn’t attached to his iPhone), Max likes gaming, socialising, rowing and watching extreme sports. He has a keen interest in boats and offensive information security techniques.
Next year Max aims to play a game of “spot the feds” at Defcon.
Thomas Paffett – our Head of Information Security Research, has been into Information Security for over 5 years;
Thomas came to us from his role as an IT Operations Manager, before this he taught Forensic Science at Kent University and has enjoyed working hands-on with securing and cleaning IT systems since 2010. He has a real passion for technology and enjoys playing with encryption. Thomas also runs and secures our company systems and websites, as well as running our social media (see: Here for his infosec based twitter feed).
In his spare time, Thomas enjoys fast EVs, coding in HTML & PTP, web development, blogging and SCUBA diving, having recently completed his Advanced Open Water and Nitrox diving qualifications.
Laura Peterson – Joined us in October of 2018, as a Security Recruitment consultant, from her former role at a fine art gallery, working within their sales team. She also worked with their IT group in rolling out a networked sales system within the company. When she’s not in work she enjoys being outside; hiking, rock climbing, anything really that’s not under a roof. She’s also a keen baker (and was before it became trendy).
